Fox Flux Helmet Review

The Fox Flux is the new kid on the block in the all-mountain helmet category. It is also the first open face mtb helmet Fox has made.

The Flux is a stylish lid offering more coverage at the back of the head, similar protection to a potty style skate helmet, but with far more ventilation. In fact 20 well placed vents make for good air flow and a cool head.

Fox uses a ratchet retention system for easy size adjustment. The visor is attached by two snap-ons on each side and is large enough to keep the sun out of your eyes however it isn't adjustable.

The Flux also has a unique rear spoiler that keeps the helmet glued to your head. . . JUST KIDDING! The rear wing serves no purpose at all and was put there solely for looks alone and can be removed.

The Flux's shell has In-molding technology with a full hard outer shell. The pad system inside soaks up sweat well and Fox has thrown in a spare set. Size and fit is good for most but like most helmets it is a personal choice. The only down side is that it's definitely at the heavier end of the scale at 360g. But that is the pay off for great protection.

The Fox Flux is available in Oz in black, blackcamo and red. If you're after the sand camo like us, I suggest you source the helmet overseas and save some cash as well. Otherwise the Flux retails for about $180 and is available at your LBS now.
